This role drives and implements automated quality standards across the engineering organisation. You will work with cross functional teams to implement automated testing strategies that support the QA teams. You will design, develop, and integrate tests into our automation frameworks.  You will identify underperforming tests, implement testing fixes, log defects, and provides status reports on the progress of tasks.

**Main Objectives and Activities **

  • Develop back-end (e.g., API, Service) and front-end (e.g., Web UI) automation using automated tools.

  • Construct automation frameworks to help integrate automated tests seamlessly into the current development/testing process and earlier in the Software Development/Testing Lifecycle (SDLC/STLC).

  • Contribute to automated test suites based on acceptance criteria, maintain tests, track outcomes, and monitor for inconsistent results.

  • Continually automate manual tests and integrate them into automated regression test suites.

  • Support the production readiness evaluation process, which includes developing automated Post Deployment Testing.

  • Participate in post-implementation reviews, suggest improvements, and implement lessons learned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or 1 to 2 years’ experience in a QA or development role.
  • Good understanding of QA processes and the Software Development/Testing Lifecycle (SDLC/STLC).
  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Understanding of the inverse pyramid of automation (unit, integration/mid-level, and acceptance tests).
  • Ability to work directly with the QA teams to assess the health of a feature and clearly communicate the health to others.
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies.

Desired Skills

  • Formal training in QA methods, e.g., ISTQB training.
  • Proficiency in the use of some of the supported automation tool suites.
