The Team

We build and own the delivery of AssureID Sentinel and AcuFill desktop applications, which are part of GBG’s Documents and Biometrics product portfolio. We are a cross functional team who pride ourselves on our collaborative spirit. We value every team member’s expertise, and each member contributes to our collective success. Our daily work follows Agile methodology, placing a strong emphasis on automation.

The Role

You help safeguard the quality and reliability of our identity proofing applications which run on desktop devices and integrate seamlessly with third-party identity document scanner hardware.

You'll execute testing strategies, identify bugs, and contribute to enhancing our software solutions.

What you will do

With the guidance of more experienced team members your primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, usability, and performance of software application components.
  • Gaining exposure to executing test cases manually and utilizing automated testing tools to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in software products.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting technical issues and system failures, to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Supporting the maintenance of thorough documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results, to ensure traceability and effective communication within the team.
  • Developing an understanding of current solution implementations and gaining insights into ongoing initiatives.
  • Exploring emerging technologies and methodologies, to enhance product quality and testing efficiency, while gaining valuable experience and knowledge in the field.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • A foundational understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, and test case design, with a willingness to learn and apply these principles effectively in testing activities under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • Basic familiarity with testing tools such as TestRail (or similar test management tools) for organizing and managing test cases, and a readiness to gain hands-on experience with other relevant tools for manual and automated testing.
  • Displays strong logical and analytical thinking skills, enabling them to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently while seeking guidance from senior team members when needed.
  • Some exposure to Agile development methodologies and practices, with an interest in learning and adapting QA practices within Agile frameworks, and collaborating effectively within Agile teams.
  • Clear communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and technical concepts effectively to team members, stakeholders, and management, while being open to feedback and guidance to improve communication skills over time.
  • Awareness of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments, with a basic understanding of relevant tools and processes for software delivery pipelines, and a readiness to learn and contribute to these processes under supervision.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, with a desire to contribute to team development and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, while seeking opportunities for mentorship and skills development.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical issues, with logical and analytical thinking skills, while seeking guidance and support from senior team members to ensure timely problem resolution and minimize project impact.
