The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO), Platforms & Services Department (P&S), Integration Division (INT), Integration Solutions Unit (ISU) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Software Quality Assurance Engineer.*

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Purpose

We are looking for someone with a strong background in software testing methodologies, encompassing manual, automated, performance, and regression testing, combined with a deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC). If you're interested in defining test strategies, coordinating test activities and leading a team of test engineers in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software integration solutions, this position is perfect for you! Operating Network

You will report directly to the Head of Unit and will work in close contact with platform leads and with the other colleagues across the department.

The Integration Solutions Unit focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining integration solutions that facilitate seamless communication and interaction between different software systems, applications, or components within the EIB Group.

Accountabilities

  • Define test strategies and plans to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Coordinate test activities and prioritize testing requirements.
  • Assess the performance and scalability of the integration solutions under different conditions to identify bottlenecks or performance issues.
  • Lead a team of test engineers and developers to execute testing activities effectively.
  • Write manual or automated test cases to validate software functionality.
  • Develop and implement automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and early defect identification.
  • Analyse test results and collaborate with development teams to address issues.
  • Ensure adherence to software quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science, economics or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in manual and/or automated software testing 
  • Experience in testing of APIs including authentication/authorisation mechanisms (such as OAuth, SAML)
  • Experience in using test management tools such as Jira, Xray, TestRail 
  • Experience with tools such as Postman, RESTAssured, SOAPUI, selenium, cypress, katalon, JMeter, LoadRunner, Mockito, WireMock, DBUnit, Jenkins, Azure DevOps 
  • Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for database testing
  • Experience in working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud as a nice to have
  • Experience in writing and maintaining automated test scripts using testing frameworks and programming languages like Python or Java would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (**), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
