Software Test Engineer

We are looking for Junior and Senior Software Test Engineers to join the J-Mack team!

Location: Charleston, SC (Must live in the Charleston, SC area or be willing to relocate)

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities include: • Conduct manual and automated regression testing against all test cases to ensure that new code, functionality, or new releases have not introduced errors to existing functionality. • Test the system capabilities to ensure functionality, interoperability, and data validation across distributed components the system. • Conduct regularly scheduled automated testing on source code that is checked into a code repository to ensure build integrity and compliance with coding patterns/practices. • Conduct testing (either automated or manual) to take code from a code repository and exercise it to ensure that it can be compiled and released to a working environment. • Conduct manual or automated testing to ensure compliance with 508 standards. • Work closely with various members of the requirements, development, test and deployment teams to develop, enhance, and maintain the necessary test artifacts, including test plans, test procedures and test scripts for all releases of the software. • Work closely with requirements analysts to verify and validate requirements and acceptance criteria. • Work closely with developers to verify new functionality and perform smoke tests to validate their changes. • Participate in regular scrum requirements and traceability sessions, developing test scenarios, conduct regular system testing, and documenting and tracking all test results for the program in accordance with defined processes. • Write and execute manual and automated test scripts to support a Selenium automation script library.

A qualified candidate has: • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. (8 years of experience may be substituted). • Prior experience in testing software • Experience in creating automated test scripts, preferably using Selenium • Knowledge of at least one development language (Java, C++, C#, etc.) • Experience working in an Agile software development environment • Strong knowledge of release procedures and software defect tracking • Solid proficiency in test effort estimation and tracking • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts & Database fundamentals (SQL)
